Welcome to the Kitney/Kidney Family web site, which is provided to assist genealogists and Kitney/Kidney Family members with their research. 

It is also hoped that family members around the world will contribute to the site to provide details of their ancestors and information when the family arrived in their new country. This will enable us to link the Kitney/Kidney Family all around the world.

Since commencing these pages it has become obvious from family information supplied by Kitneys around the world, that Kidney and Kytney along with other spellings should be included, as some families had children with the surname of both Kidney and Kitney.  It obviously depends on how the vicar spelt the name.  

The majority of information in the following pages is about Kitneys and Kidneys of Kent, this being the County in England to which most of the families around the world trace their roots.

Apart from the UK descendants of the Kitney/Kidney families, they are also found in many countries. 

These include, Australia, Canada, Malta, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.  It has also been suggested that there are descendants in Argentina and the Caribbean Islands.
